MEF Elects New Global Board
- Mobile Entertainment Forum announces Global Board election results with Andrew Bud of mBlox re-elected as Global Chairman & Pete Wood of Sony Pictures elected as Vice-Chairman
- Member of Distinction & Board Member of Distinction Awards recognise outstanding commitment to MEF and industry at large
- Inaugural MEF CEO Summit attracts 70 mobile media leaders to discuss critical industry issues
London, 22 June 2010 – Luca Pagano (Vice President Publishing, EA Mobile), Rob Lewis (Executive Chairman, Omnifone) and James Parton, Head of Developer Marketing (Telefonica) were voted onto the MEF Global board for the first time at yesterday’s MEF Global AGM. In addition, directors from both KPMG and Shazam were re-elected to the board, with Andrew Bud also re-elected as Global Chairman and Pete Wood elected as Global Vice Chairman.
Two awards were presented for the first time at the AGM to recognise individual leadership and commitment to MEF and the mobile media industry. The Member of Distinction Award was given to Alex Haffner of Denton Wilde Sapte for his support on MEF’s industry-shaping regulatory work and producing essential initiative guides for members. The MEF Director of Distinction Award was presented jointly to MEF North America Chairman Gary Schwartz and MEF EMEA Chairman Gerrit Jan Konijnenberg: both Chairmen have contributed to the success of MEF with Gary’s leadership on the M-Commerce Initiative and Canada events and Gerrit’s regional expansion efforts throughout EMEA, including the recent launch of the MENA office.
