Meffys Ceremony Showcases Winners from across the World

Industry turns out in force to recognise its stars in Monte Carlo

6 June 2007 - The Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF) unveiled the winners of its annual awards at an exclusive gala dinner attended by over 400 guests on 5 June. The Meffys, held in association with Nokia Nseries, were hosted by former MTV presenter Ray Cokes at the Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo. Winners scooping a prestigious Meffy came from countries across the globe including India, Australia, Norway, UK and America.

The Meffys have developed a reputation as one of the industry’s most fiercely contested prizes. Judged by independent panels of media and analysts, the fourth annual awards attracted 50% more entrants than in 2006. From the 200 entries the judging panels selected a shortlist featuring applications from 20 different countries across four of the five continents.

Rimma Perelmuter, MEF Executive Director, commented, “The Meffys winners are a roll call of the companies that are blazing a trail in the mobile entertainment industry. One of the recurring themes in 2007 has been the industry’s efforts to improve the user experience. This trend is reflected in the consumer-friendly services and applications scooping this year’s awards.”
